Setting up Netscape Online Dial-Up Internet on your Mac with OS X 10.3

Note: These instructions apply to the Unlimited Plan only. The Netscape Online Accelerated Plan is not currently available for Macintosh.

Step 1

Click on the Apple menu in the upper-left corner of your screen and choose System Preferences...

Step 2

Click the Network icon in the System Preferences window.

Step 3

Select Internal Modem and then click the Configure... button.

Step 4

Enter your Netscape Online account and dialing information:

Service Provider: Netscape Online

Account Name: Enter the Username (username@netscape.ca) you were provided when you set up your Netscape Online account.

Password: Enter the Password you chose when you set up your Netscape Online account.

Telephone Number: Enter the local access telephone number you were provided when you registered your Netscape Online account. This will be the number your modem dials to connect to the Internet.
If you have local ten-digit (with area code) dialing in your area, enter the entire ten digit number in the Telephone number.

Note that if you are calling from a phone line that requires you to dial a number for an outside line (a 9 for example) use a comma (,) after the number to insert a one second pause. This will give the phone enough time to establish a connection with an outside line. Add additional commas if you need a longer pause.

Step 5 (Optional)

Set your computer to automatically dial Netscape Online whenever an Internet connection is needed:

Step 6

Click Apply Now in the Network window

Step 7

Close the Network window. You are now ready to connect using Netscape Online.
